Cookie policy

Last updated June 3, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how FootyMetrics ("we", "us", and "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit footymetrics.com (the "Website"). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and the choices you have. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy. We are FootyMetrics, registered in the Netherlands with company number 96524847.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner. We also use your browser's local storage in the same way, and we cover it here too.

Cookies set by us are called "first-party" cookies. Cookies set by the services we use are "third-party" cookies, and they enable features such as authentication, payments, security, and analytics.

Why do we use cookies?

Some cookies are required for the Website to function, which we call "strictly necessary." Others are optional and only set with your consent: functional cookies remember your preferences, analytics cookies help us understand usage, and marketing cookies credit the partner who referred you. We do not sell your data.

How can I control cookies?

You decide which optional cookies to allow. When you first visit, we show a consent banner where you can accept all, reject all, or choose per category. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off because the Website cannot run without them. Everything else stays off until you opt in.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the link in the footer, or by clearing the fm_consent cookie in your browser. We enforce your choice with Google Consent Mode v2, so analytics and advertising tags stay gated until you opt in, and affiliate scripts only load once you allow marketing cookies. If we change the cookies we use, we update the policy version and ask you again.

Required for core functions: signing in, security, fraud prevention, and remembering your cookie choice. These cannot be rejected.

Third-party providers

Some cookies are set by the services we rely on. Their use of any data they collect is governed by their own privacy policies:

Controlling cookies in your browser

Beyond our banner, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as signing in, from working. Most browsers explain how in their help pages:

Other tracking technologies

Cookies are not the only way to recognise visitors. Analytics tools may use small image files such as web beacons or pixels, which work with cookies to count visits and measure usage. Because they depend on cookies, declining analytics cookies also limits these. We do not use Flash cookies.

How often will we update this policy?

We update this policy when the cookies we use change, or for legal or operational reasons. When we do, we change the version on the consent banner so you are asked again. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
