What is the Player Props Finder?
The FootyMetrics player props finder is a conditional search tool that filters upcoming football fixtures for players who meet specific statistical criteria. Instead of manually checking dozens of player pages, you set your conditions - such as a player hitting 1+ shots on target in 80% of their last 5 matches - and the tool surfaces every player across all upcoming fixtures who qualifies.
It's built for bettors who want to find repeatable player prop opportunities backed by recent form data, not gut feel. Every result links directly to the player's stats page and shows available odds from Bet365 and other bookmakers, so you can assess value without leaving the platform.
How the player props search works
Search Criteria
Pick a statistic such as shots, fouls, tackles, cards, dribbles, and others, then choose between hit rate or average strategy. Hit rate tells you how consistently a player hits a threshold (e.g. 1+ shots in 80% of last 20 matches). Average tells you their mean output over a window. Set your match window from 3 to 20 games.
Match Context
Filter by fixture date, specific leagues, and opponent difficulty. The opponent difficulty filter compares the upcoming opponent's defensive record against the league average so you can find players facing weaker sides who are likely to see more of the ball in their key stat areas.
Player Filters
Narrow by position, home/away splits, minimum minutes played, and lineup status. The 'started match only' filter is especially useful as it removes data from substitute appearances that would otherwise distort a player's hit rate on a stat like shots or key passes.
Odds
Set a minimum odds line to filter out overpriced favourites, select your bookmaker, and choose whether to include only players with live odds data. This keeps results actionable because you're only seeing opportunities you can actually bet on at a value you're comfortable with.
Hit rate vs average: which strategy to use
Hit Rate
The more reliable strategy for finding consistent performers. Hit rate tells you how often a player cleared a threshold, for example: 1+ shots on target in 8 of last 10 matches (80%). Because every match is weighted equally, a single standout performance doesn't inflate the result.
Recommended starting point: 80% hit rate over 10 matches. It's strict enough to filter noise but broad enough to return useful results.
Average
Use with caution. Averages can be skewed by one outlier performance like a player who scored a hat-trick once and went quiet for 7 matches can still show a high goals average. The number looks good; the consistency doesn't back it up.
Best used for: Volume benchmarking when combined with a tight match window (3-5 games) to limit how much a single outlier can distort the result.
Statistics available in the props finder
The props finder covers a wide range of football statistics including markets that most general stats sites don't surface. Some stats down below have automated betting trends available on the player trends page.
Foul and tackle markets in particular are underserved by most betting platforms. Many bookmakers offer these markets but few tools help you find consistent performers. The props finder is built specifically to surface these opportunities.
