How to use the Player Props Finder
The Player Props Finder is a conditional search tool. You pick a stat, a line and a strategy, hit rate or average, and it searches every upcoming fixture for players who currently meet that condition, ranked by how often they have actually cleared it.

- The finder searches upcoming fixtures for players who meet a stat condition you set: a stat such as shots on target, a line such as 1+, and a strategy, hit rate or average.
- Hit rate shows how often a player cleared that exact line in a match window you choose, as a fraction and a percentage, not a projection.
- Filters run in three groups (search criteria, match context, player filters) plus an odds section for stats the tool prices.
- A high hit rate over a handful of matches is still a small sample. Read it alongside sample size before treating it as reliable.
Below is what the tool actually lets you set, plus a walkthrough of building a shortlist the way the tool does it.
What the Props Finder actually does
The Player Props Finder is a conditional search over upcoming fixtures. You are not browsing a fixed leaderboard, you are describing a condition and the tool searches every player across the leagues you have selected who currently meets it. The tool's own page describes this directly: it displays upcoming fixtures with players who match specific criteria for statistics like shots, shots on target, fouls and cards, and lets you set your conditions to filter players based on their historical match statistics.
A condition has three parts:
- Stat. One of 17 stats the tool supports: goals, assists, goal involvements, offsides, shots, shots on target, tackles, tackles won, cards, yellow cards, fouls committed, fouls won, foul involvements, goalkeeper saves, dispossessed, interceptions, dribble attempts and successful dribbles. Shots, tackles and fouls committed sit as quick-select buttons above the full dropdown, alongside shots on target as the tool's default.
- Line. The threshold for that stat, for example "1+" shots on target. Each stat has its own valid range and step, so the input only offers sensible values for that stat, for example 1 to 8 for shots on target hit rate counts and 1 to 10 for shots.
- Strategy. Hit rate or average. This is the single most important choice on the page.
Hit rate versus average
Hit rate answers one question: in the player's last set number of matches, how many times did they clear the line you set. The tool shows this as a live summary, for example "1+ shots on target in 8 of last 10 matches (80%)", and a slider running from 10% to 100% in steps of 5, alongside a match window you choose from the tool's own list of valid windows. Every match in the window counts equally, so one big outlier game does not by itself inflate the number, only how many times the player actually cleared the line.
Average instead shows the mean value of the stat across the same match window. It is more exposed to a single standout performance skewing the number, since one high match pulls the average up even if the player was otherwise quiet.
Each result card shows the hit rate as a percentage, a per-90 figure, an average across the shown matches, and a history strip of the individual recent matches behind that number, one box per match, colour-coded depending on whether that specific match cleared the condition, alongside the competition, opponent, minutes played and home or away tag for that match. This is the same history strip used on FootyMetrics player trend cards: see reading a player trend card for a full breakdown of how to read one.
The Props Finder filter groups
The filters sit in three cards, plus a fourth for odds when the stat supports it.
Search criteria
- Statistic: quick buttons plus a full dropdown of all 17 stats
- Strategy: hit rate or average
- Value: the line, with a stat-specific minimum, maximum and step
- Matches: the match window
- Hit rate slider (hit rate strategy only, 10% to 100% in steps of 5)
Match context
- Fixture date: quick presets (all, today, 24h, 3d, 7d) or a custom multi-date picker
- Leagues: multi-select, searchable, grouped by country. The tool only searches leagues you have selected
- Opponent difficulty: all, easier or harder, based on the next opponent's defensive record for that stat against the league average, with an optional custom minimum and maximum range
- Next fixture at home only (on or off)
Player filters
- Positions: goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, multi-select, matches if the player played in any of the selected positions
- Match location: both, home or away, applied to the historical matches counted, not the next fixture
- Lineup status: all, predicted, confirmed, or both
- Minimum minutes (slider, 1 to 90)
- Started match only (on or off), which excludes substitute appearances from the count
- Next fixture league only (on or off), which only counts historical matches from the same league as the player's next fixture
Odds
Shown only for the stats the tool prices: goals, assists, goal involvements, shots, shots on target, tackles, fouls committed, fouls won, cards and saves.
- Odds line: the specific over/under line to price, for example 0.5, 1.5 or 2.5
- Minimum odds (slider, 1.0 to 5.0)
- Bookmaker selection (multi-select)
There is no named-opponent search
Building a shortlist
Say you want a shortlist of wingers likely to keep testing the goalkeeper. In search criteria, pick shots on target, set strategy to hit rate, line to 1, and matches to 10. Drag the hit rate slider to 70%, which the page summarises as "1+ shots on target in ≥7/10 matches (70%)". In player filters, switch positions to midfielder and forward only, and turn on started match only so substitute appearances are left out of the count. Leave match context on its defaults unless you only care about a specific week or want to lean on opponent difficulty. Run the search, and the results rank players by how often they have actually cleared 1+ shots on target across their last 10 starts, each with the match-by-match strip so you can see which games did and did not count.
The tool also ships six built-in quick searches above the form: 1+ shot on target in 70% of the last 10 starts, 1+ shot on target at 2.00+ odds in 70% of the last 20 matches, 2+ shots in 65% of the last 15 starts for midfielders and forwards, 2+ tackles in 70% of the last 5 starts for defenders, 1+ card in 50% of the last 15 matches, and 3+ saves in 70% of the last 15 starts for goalkeepers. They are a fast way to see the tool working before building a custom condition.

Reading a high hit rate
An 80% hit rate over 10 matches means 8 of those 10 games cleared the line, nothing more. It does not say the next match will. The same logic that applies to any stat measured over a limited number of matches applies here: a strong recent run can be genuine form, or it can be a small sample that has not yet regressed. See variance and sample size for the general case, and treat a hit rate the same way you would treat any other recent-form number: useful context, not a guarantee.
Player Props Finder FAQs
What stats can I search on in the Player Props Finder?
Seventeen stats: goals, assists, goal involvements, offsides, shots, shots on target, tackles, tackles won, cards, yellow cards, fouls committed, fouls won, foul involvements, goalkeeper saves, dispossessed, interceptions, dribble attempts and successful dribbles.
What is the difference between hit rate and average in the Props Finder?
Hit rate counts how many of the last set number of matches cleared your line, shown as a fraction and a percentage. Average shows the mean value of the stat over the same match window, which a single outlier match can skew more than hit rate can.
Can I filter the Props Finder by a player's next opponent?
Yes, using the opponent difficulty filter, which compares the next opponent's defensive record for that stat against the league average (easier, harder, or a custom range). It is not a search for a named team.
Does the Props Finder show betting odds?
For the stats the tool prices (goals, assists, goal involvements, shots, shots on target, tackles, fouls committed, fouls won, cards and saves) you can set a specific odds line, a minimum odds threshold and choose your bookmakers.
Does a high hit rate in the Props Finder guarantee the bet wins?
No. It describes recent form over a set number of matches, not a prediction of what happens next. See variance and sample size for why a small sample needs the same caution regardless of how high the percentage looks.
