Best leagues for BTTS betting
Both teams to score is one of the most widely bet football markets. This page covers both sides: the leagues where BTTS yes lands most often, and the leagues where BTTS no is the structural play. All data is from the current season only.
What is the BTTS market
Both teams to score is a yes or no bet on whether each side scores at least one goal before full time. The result, the margin, and when the goals come do not matter. The only condition is whether both goalkeepers are beaten.
BTTS yes wins when both teams score. BTTS no wins whenever either team keeps a clean sheet, including 0-0 draws, which is the most common clean sheet result for both sides simultaneously.
The BTTS yes rate in a league is a direct measure of how often both defences are beaten. The BTTS no rate is simply 100 minus the yes rate. These two numbers sum to 100%, so every percentage point gained on one side is lost on the other.
Leagues with highest BTTS yes rate
The top 10 domestic leagues by BTTS yes rate in the current season. These are competitions where both defences being beaten is the most likely outcome. High BTTS rates usually reflect a division-wide lack of defensive organisation. Check the clean sheet column: in these leagues it is low precisely because BTTS yes is high. The two metrics are directly inverse.

Leagues with highest BTTS no rate
The top 10 domestic leagues where BTTS no lands most often. Clean sheets are structurally frequent in these competitions. This can reflect a dominant group of defensive clubs, a wide quality gap between top and bottom, or a league culture that prioritises defensive shape. The clean sheet percentage in these leagues is high relative to the overall average, confirming that at least one side avoids conceding across a majority of fixtures.

How to use this data
League rates are a prior probability, not a bet. They tell you the base rate of BTTS yes or no for a given competition. That is where your analysis starts, not where it ends.
A BTTS yes bet is stronger when both teams have individually high scoring and conceding rates, the fixture is in a high-BTTS league, and recent form from both sides shows goals at both ends. When the league baseline, team-level form, and recent head-to-head history all point in the same direction, the confluence of signals makes the bet structurally more reliable.
BTTS no is most reliable when one or both teams has a recent clean sheet run, the league base rate for BTTS no is above 50%, and the opposition has a low scoring rate in recent matches. A strong favourite playing at home in a low-BTTS league against a side with few goals scored is a common BTTS no setup.
Use the team BTTS trends page to find teams currently on a BTTS yes or no run across recent matches, or check individual team pages for home and away BTTS splits.
