World Cup 2026 FAQ

When does the 2026 World Cup start?

The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July 2026. The opening match is in Mexico City and the final is at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey on 19 July.

How does the new 48 team format work?

For the first time the World Cup features 48 teams in 12 groups of four. The top two from each group plus the eight best third placed teams advance, creating a 32 team knockout round before the last 16, quarter finals, semi finals and final.

Which countries are hosting the 2026 World Cup?

Three countries co-host across 16 cities: the United States stages 11 venues, with Canada and Mexico hosting two and three respectively. Mexico City's Estadio Azteca hosts the opener and most knockout matches are in the United States.

Where can I find World Cup stats and predictions?

This hub carries free standings, the full schedule and a prediction for every match. FootyMetrics also covers the same advanced stats for 115+ leagues, so you can dig into the club form of every player heading to the tournament. None of it needs an account.

Are the predictions on this page free?

Yes. The win, draw and over/under probabilities shown next to each fixture are free to view. Premium adds the full AI prediction breakdown per match, but everything on this hub is open.
